A broken tennis racquet failed to deter Christian Prince, proving he was a force to be reckoned with at the recent Zone Tennis Championships.
The event, which was held in Armidale last Wednesday June 15, saw students from around the region come together for a day of competitive tennis, with boys under 19 up for regional selection.
Christian took to the court determined to prove he was worthy of the Regional team and did not disappoint. Playing with an older junior racquet (with a tattered grip) due to breaking the strings of his own racquet the day before, Christian powered into the finals, demonstrating what Mungindi locals always knew - the boy has natural talent.
Christian made the Regional Team at third seed and will now play at the NSW Combined High Schools Championships in North Parramatta, August 23 - 24, 2016.
Congratulations Christian.
